The Club

Easton Gymnastic Club is a club set up for the fun and enjoyment for the village children and the surrounding local villages and community’s. The club has now been running since 1984. The club is primarily recreational with option for the gymnasts to take part in competitions if they wish to do so. The club has had success in county competitions with some champions and would like to continue this success. The club was original started with 18 members and virtually no equipment and only one session per week for only one hour in the village hall.

Through parents, gymnasts and community help, the club has fund raised and developed to offer women’s artistic gymnastics, sport acrobatic gymnastics and men’s artistic gymnastics. The club has developed through hard work from coaches and committee members to currently offer a maximum of 20 hours training per week, raising the membership to about 260. The club can take gymnasts from age 5 upwards into adult groups of any age.The club now trains at Easton Sports and Leisure Centre 5 days a week.

Easton gymnastics club is a registered member of the BGA (British Gymnastics Association) and the ECGA (Eastern Counties Gymnastics Association) it has a number of fully qualified coaches and a potentially strong assistant coach base for the future. The club has a very strong community backing and is run with a very friendly atmosphere.

The club has had success in competitions with numerous medals at county level in both women’s artistic, mens artistic and sports acrobatic gymnastics, the highlighted by bumber of our male and femal gymnasts becoming Norfolk champions. The club also offer the children a chance to perform at its annual display, usually held at Easton college, giving a chance for the gymnasts to show off their talents and the parents and community a chance to see what the gymnasts and the club can achieve. Through this and our links with the local school we are often asked to perform displays at fetes and charity events.

Our schools and local community links also allow us to offer specialised help with Scout and Brownie agility badges, assistance with the sports side of the Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes, help with additional training for GCSE PE theory practical assessments and mentor our young assistant coaches through BAGA qualifications and onto the first part of the GNVQ sports management courses.
